ALAP BLOG POSTS

We have been getting several questions lately about TESOL websites that show the ALAP logo. If an institution has been accredited by us, you will always be able to find them on the relevant page of the ALAP website. If the name doesn’t appear, we do not accredit them – it’s as simple as that.

Another thing you can do is put your mouse over the ALAP logo on the site that advertises accreditation with us. If they are genuine, there will be a hyperlink to our URL (usually the exact page on our site where their name appears). If no link exists, they are probably fraudulent and are taking our name in vain.

In each of the recent cases, when kind souls pointed out to me that the ALAP logo was being falsely used, I wrote to the parties concerned demanding its immediate removal or that they at least start the process of registering with us. On each occasion my emails were left unanswered. It’s a sad fact but there are unscrupulous people out there who will claim all kinds of recognition to which they are not entitled. Possession of an ALAP certificate or diploma is a professional guarantee of competence and is a reflection of the hard work you have put in to studying for it. We  never take your achievements lightly nor fail to recognise the efforts you have made.

We are always ready to acknowledge and recognise high standards. However, be in no doubt that we will not flinch from naming institutions that claim recognition when they haven’t earned it.
