As part of ALAP’s ongoing quality assurance programme, all accredited centres are required to adhere to the following moderation process for each ALAP accredited course. Courses are moderated to ensure that assessment criteria are being adhered to and that students are receiving fair and accurate grades according to the ALAP Framework and grading system.
Moderation Process
- A spot check for each course will be carried out by an external ALAP moderator. Assessed work for all course attendees must be kept on file electronically until the course has been moderated.
- For courses delivered online, spot checks will be carried out on samples of assessed student work periodically.
- Moderated samples will be checked against the grading criteria.
